Mark Willenbrink is an internationally known author, artist and teacher. Mark is the author of "Drawing for the Absolute Beginner" and “Watercolor for the Absolute Beginner” and has contributed close to forty articles for Watercolor Artist Magazine. His most recent projects are a series of art instruction workshop DVDs which can be downloaded on www.artistsnetwork.

.
Mark has been influenced by artists Winslow Homer, John Constable and John Singer Sargent. Mastering watercolors as a purist, Mark’s approach does not use any other medium or masking agent with his watercolors and relies on the white of the paper for the whites in his paintings. He enjoys the challenge of this approach because it allows the transparency and spontaneity of watercolors to remain active during the painting process. Though he primarily paints with watercolors, Mark also enjoys oils, drawing with graphite pencils and scratchboard.
